How to formulate the RIGHT Question :

1) Write down the Purpose with which you want to solve any problem. Let’s take this problem of ‘Travel to Office’. e.g. If you want to have a safe, flexible, economic travel, we would like to eliminate the using the ‘public transport’ & ‘buying a bike’ option. This can lead to a sinlge question ‘which car to buy’

2) Now that you know which is the ‘question’ you want to answer ( in this case it is ‘which car to buy?’), try to make it as clear & precise as possible.

3) Ideally use your purpose to make this question clear & precise. e.g. You may want a car which is safe & economical. This might lead to more precise question of ‘Which Small car to buy?’

4) The above step will continue until you find the clear & precise question. Remember to use the purpose everytime to make the question clear & precise.

Remember☝ Generic Questions lead to Generic answers.

A clear & precise purpose leads to a clear & precise question and vice versa.

Few iterations of the first 3 steps above👆 will lead you to that RIGHT Question worth answering.

Check this oversimplified explanation of this step for ‘Travel to office’ problem for easy understanding:

a) Purpose: Travel to office – economically, safely, flexibility (Avoid Bike, Public Transport, Choose Car)

b) Question: Which car to buy > “Which Small car to buy from a dealer near my locality?”
