Chanakya Joshi

Position : Founder at GetAConnect.in
Graduation : B.E. (Mechanical) from Government College of Engineering, Karad
Post Graduation : MBA from IIM Indore

Five years back at this time I was...

Working on a once in a lifetime 'Global Process harmonisation Project' of a multinational organization

My typical day looks like...

Converting a dream into reality with few small steps. Everyday the dream is different. Everyday the role might also be different.

The BEST part of working in my company/role is...

An opportunity to Give Back to the society and change the world in what we learn and the way we learn.

The most Important skills I use daily in my job are...

Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking, Thinking, Learning and Unlearning.

When and How I chose my long term career choice...

Inspired by a book named 'The Road Ahead' by Bill Gates, I decided to be an entrepreneur during my third year of engineering.

One of the silliest things we do about career is...

Copy others. Confuse status with success. Confuse Success with Happiness.

The best piece of advice I have ever received...

Attitude is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, the education, the money, the circumstances, the failure, the success, what other people think or say or do. It is more important than the appearance, the giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company… a temple… a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past… we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% of how you react to it…Take charge of your Attitude!!

The Jobs in 2050...

will be shorter, flexible and filled with ‘over choice’!

The movie, TV show or book I would recommend you to read/watch...

A book : There are many. Read almost anything you like. My favourite is a book named 'India Unbound' by Gurcharan Das
Movies : There are many. Whatever you watch, watch and then think on why and how it is made.
TV Show : Any interview

One thing I wish I had when I chose my career...

A mentor

My career advice to you...

Do not take it lightly. Understand your ikigai and then find out something from that exercise. Give yourself a time to find out your ikigai.
