When and How I chose my long term career choice...
I do visit my career progress almost every year and take snap shot views of where I am against the goals which i set for myself. I keep looking at the context every time when I make a choice towards any career , work , life related things. Basis the contribution I can be to others makes me to choose the career choices.
One of the silliest things we do about career is...
Look at the likes and dislikes , interests , what will make me happy in every moment of the work in that specific domain / career choice, and sustainable actions that I can take in the face of most difficult challenge , which makes career decisions very fruitful.
The best piece of advice I have ever received...
One of my mentor has given me an advice about 4 years back , to be focused on doing things like , certification courses in the area where i want to create my niche, this I consider as one of the biggest turning point for me.
The Jobs in 2050...
The way future is rolling out , it appears that technology is going to rule the world in almost every aspect of living which is important to human being and other existing species. This will have economies being driven completely by automated processes mainly managed by robots / system / automated tools / machine …hence humans will have a critical role of monitoring human performance and managing some of the challenges which may be allied with the technology. The ones who have base of technology and the ones who have mastered really mastered human skills would get paid with high pay cheque.
The movie, TV show or book I would recommend you to read/watch...
Ted talks, articles in the domain where one works , videos and audios related to domain, blogs and replies on these blogs, would be a great way to quickly get a hold of whats happening around.
In terms of books , there is a limitless list , one could choose to read basis their interest areas , also books related to brain science , human relations , conflict management, interpersonal relations would be of good help.
One thing I wish I had when I chose my career...
A coach and a mentor who is really on my neck making me uncomfortable so that I take actions.
My career advice to you...
Ask a few questions like what will make me happy fulfilled and accomplished in terms of tasks that are involved in work, get to the deepest level of answers , like what is that which make me work (work tasks) every moment irrespective of any challenge or circumstance. Then work towards getting into that work domain and fulfill it with die hard focus.
